This abacus made of RE-Wood* material is a Montessori Mathematics material. It allows young children to learn calculations in a more concrete and visual way. The simple colors of this abacus allow the child's attention not to be distracted.

The white and red balls are arranged in groups of 5 balls of each color, alternating red/white and white/red. The numbers can thus be represented, counted and compared (greater than, equal to, less than, etc.). The fact that the balls are grouped by 5 allows the emphasis to be placed on the structure of 5 and 10. Thanks to this principle, the child can be introduced to double and half a number.

It is also possible to do all the basic arithmetic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

In a second step, the child with more experience will be able to make the transitions of the tens, the drawing of square and cubic roots, etc.
